Flatfooting and clogging are the mainstays of the dance floor at The Friday Night Jamboree. These are traditional Appalachian dance styles handed down through the generations. There is a magic synchrony that happens when the band and the dancers are working together.
We’re delighted to offer dance lessons to get you started with some traditional Appalachian steps. You won’t believe how much fun it is working with our instructor, Lesia Linkous. In a short, intense hour she’ll give you enough knowledge and confidence to get out on the dance floor and get the full experience of the Floyd Country Store Friday Night Jamboree.
Join Lesia for a dance lesson before the Friday Night Jamboree on Friday, August 29 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. The cost is $15 at the door (students $10).
If you can’t make this one Leisa is also scheduled to teach classes on September 26 and October 24. If you have a group of 5 or more we can also arrange a special class for you.
