Yes, We’re a Real Country Store!

onlinestore_welcome

As we approach our 100th anniversary the Floyd Country Store has become a real country store again. You can’t miss the barrels of old-fashioned candy at the front of the store and if you explore further you can find everything from hand-dipped ice cream to hard-wearing bib overalls.

The store is a meeting place for the community, where folks gather to play checkers, enjoy a bowl of our homemade soup, buy fresh baked bread or pastries, and browse our unique selection of merchandise

The clothing store features Carhartt, Roper, Pointer, Rosie’s, and Stetson apparel along with many other items such as Henschel American-made hats, and Darn Tough socks made in Vermont.

Our shelves are filled with a wide variety of items chosen with simple country living in mind. You can find enamelware, pie dishes, cookie cutters, and rolling pins along with hardwearing linens, organic dishtowels, eco-friendly cleaning products, and the kind of toys and games you remember playing at Grandma’s house. And you can pick up books on farming, country cooking, music, crafts and local history.

We like to ‘buy local’ so we feature arts, crafts, preserves, soaps, lotions, music and books made by folks in Floyd and the surrounding areas. To remind you of a visit to the store you can buy a beautiful photograph, a Country Store birdhouse or a Country Store tee shirt and hat.

Local music and dancing permeates the store. You can find CDs by local old time, bluegrass and gospel groups, along with many famous names from Uncle Dave Macon and The Carter Family to Rhonda Vincent and Uncle Earl. We also stock books and accessories for stringed instruments and taps for dancers.

If you don’t find what you need in the store just ask. We are constantly adding new items that are good to have and hard to find.

Now, you can shop from home with our new online store. Find a selection of favorite items from our store including: local music, hats and tee shirts, local arts and crafts, books, and souvenirs. If you don’t see it there, give us a call or email, and we will do our best to help you get what you need. Click the link at the top of the page (online store) to see whats on the shelves.
