In the great tradition of Appalachian old-time music, The New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters bring high energy and irresistible dance music to the stage of the country store on Saturday June 13. Our Saturday Dances are becoming a forum for the very best in our regional heritage music and dancing. Come and join in the fun!
New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters – Saturday, June 13
The group came together informally at the 1985 Fries fiddlers Convention and have since become well known and appreciated in traditional music circles. The name, The New Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters, is a tribute to the original Ballard’s Branch Bogtrotters, a famous Galax-area band of the 1930s. The group has won the prestigious first place old-time band prize at the Old Fiddlers’ Convention in Galax eight different years. Eddie Bond, the band’s fiddler, is also a fine vocalist, and he knows many of the old mountain ballads that date back to previous generations.
Tickets are $7 at the door

Now that summer is here we are open for business Tuesday – Sunday. Now you can enjoy our country store lunches and unique shopping experience 6 days a week in addition to our regular weekly music events on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.

What’s new in The Store?
Along with summer hours comes our summer menu. We’ve added summer items like the BLT salad plate. fresh fruit and white chocolate key-lime pie . And try out our new skillet baked cornbread, made to an old Floyd County family recipe and baked fresh at the store every morning.
You’ll see a lot of action at our ice cream counter too. With hand-dipped ice cream we can create a personalized ice cream sundae just for you. Or try a fresh fruit milkshake or a root beer float to keep you cool on a warm summer evening.
June 20 is a special day int the town of Floyd.
The town center will be given over to celebration of our first Floyd Town Jubilee with vendors, entertainment, a children’s area and the opening of the new town park.
