Special Crooked Road Event Coming to the Store!
Saturday, March 27th – 7:00 PM, Free Admission!
This Saturday we’re welcoming a Crooked Road showcase to the store. There will be performances by musicians and dancers from the Crooked Road. and showings of two new documentaries: From Wood to Singing Guitar an Appalshop documentary film about master luthier and musician Wayne C. Henderson, and Uncovering the secrets of the Strad a documentary about 82 year old Floyd fiddle maker Arthur Conner. You’ll also get a chance to hear some fine local made instruments being played. This free event, coming to us courtesy of the Jefferson Center, will also showcase the Round the Mountain Artisan Network which features artisans, farms, galleries and craft venues in Southwest Virginia.
The Country Store is now serving Breakfast! Tuesday – Saturday 8 AM
Now you can rise and shine with a country store breakfast every Tuesday – Saturday morning from 8:00am to 10:00am. The new menu includes breakfast sandwiches, bagels, French toast sandwiches, locally made muffins and scones, waffles and more. As always, the Country Store will be serving fresh coffee from a local roaster and even Hot Chocolate for the kids. Carolina Chocolate Drops to play 2 Shows at the Floyd Country Store on March 31st!
This year the Floyd Country Store celebrates its 100th anniversary with exciting special events and concerts all year long and is proud to present the Carolina Chocolate Drops on Wednesday March 31st for two back to back shows at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. Tickets for the 7:00 PM show are sold out but, tickets for the 9:30 PM show are still available HERE or by calling the store at 540-745-4563!
The Carolina Chocolate Drops are a group of young African-American stringband musicians that have come to together to play the rich tradition of fiddle and banjo music of Carolinas’ piedmont.
