Tuesday Tunes – Handmade Music School GIVING TUESDAY

Join us at The Floyd Country Store on Tuesday, December 2, 2025 from 5 – 7 pm for a Special Tuesday Tunes – Handmade Music School GIVING TUESDAY Concert and Live Auction Event!

Founded in 2016 as a sister organization to the Floyd Country Store, the Handmade Music School is a hub for traditional music education, celebrating the region’s rich musical heritage while fostering community and creativity. Specializing in the art of handmade music, the school offers a variety of workshops, classes, camps, special events, private lessons and other educational opportunities of all kinds.  The Handmade Music School’s mission is to cultivate and strengthen community through experiences in music, dance, art, and food rooted in our Appalachian traditions.

One of the School’s main programs is the Youth Stringband Program for ages 7-13. This is a weekly afterschool program where over sixty students gather to learn the music, dance and traditions of this region. No student is turned away due to a lack of funds and this is just one example of how the School strives to accomplish its mission to cultivate and strengthen community. Fundraisers like this are what help keep it possible for us to continue providing these kinds of opportunities at affordable prices for families.

We welcome you to come learn more about what the Handmade Music School does in our community and see some of our students and teachers perform.  The students will auction off unique items in between performances and there will be homemade sweets and refreshments served throughout the evening. The Floyd Country Store cafe will be open and a percentage of the food sales will go to support the evenings efforts.

Thank you for considering supporting the Handmade Music School.  The funds raised from this event go to scholarship funds and into our programs in order to keep them accessible to everyone.  We hope to see you there! Thank you!
