The Floyd Country Store is excited to welcome back the Americana Afternoons event on Saturday afternoons! Admission is free. The music is varied but has the common thread of Americana: traditional acoustic music. Some of it is indigenous, including bluegrass, or the music of contemporary singer-songwriters: you might hear the blues, or some of the Celtic or African sounds that underpin our American folk traditions.
Saturday lunch at the store is a special event. Pick up one of our homemade soups or sandwiches, or a plate of farm-fresh salad and find a table near the stage.
Floyd Country Store owner Dylan Locke says “Americana Afternoons allows us to explore the journey of our Southwest Virginia musical heritage and enjoy a variety of performers. We get to hear more old time and bluegrass, plus we can expand to folk music from around the world, singer-songwriters and up-and-coming bands who are developing their skills right before our eyes!”
Per federal and state guidance, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a face covering at this establishment. Those who are not vaccinated against COVID-19 must continue to wear a face covering to protect themselves and others.
We can’t wait to see you!
