Arts Across America: Kennedy Center Livestream Event July 28

Arts Across America: Kennedy Center Livestream Event

The Floyd Country Store & Handmade Music School, in conjunction with The Kennedy Center, presents Music of our Mountains: An exploration of fiddle and banjo music from Southwest Virginia on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at 4:00pm EDT. This event will be streamed live on Facebook.

This program will feature some of the finest old time musicians from the heart of the Appalachian Mountains of Southwest Virginia. Presenting different styles within our traditional music is fiddler and dancer Earl White, and 2018 NEA Heritage Fellow and multi-instrumentalist Eddie Bond. Eddie and Earl are favorites in concerts, dances, and workshops at The Floyd Country Store and Handmade Music School, but are known around the world for their mastery of old time music and dance. Whether it be through fiddle, banjo, singing or dance, both Eddie Bond and Earl White adeptly showcase these traditions that are alive and well in Southwest Virginia.
