The Handmade Music School is excited to offer a monthly Youth Old-Time Music Jam, as well as a weekly Beginner Music Jam!
Join Heather Krantz and friends every Sunday from 12:00-1:00pm for a Beginner Old Time Jam upstairs in the Community Room at The Floyd Country Store. Are you ready to explore playing music with other people, but intimidated by big public jams? Or just wanting to learn more about the structure of an old time jam or where your instrument fits in? Open to all ages, this is a perfect space to practice playing your instrument in community. Tunes are led at an accessible pace and are picked based on the knowledge of the group with some chord and melody instruction. Stick around afterward for the Floyd Country Store’s Old Time Jam from 1:30-3:30 and the Bluegrass Jam from 4:00-6:00pm.
Every 4th Sunday of the month from 1:00-1:30, the Handmade Music School hosts a Youth Jam on the stage of The Floyd Country Store. Geared toward youth under 16, this is a chance for young musicians to gather and play their repertoire at an accessible speed. Led by Handmade Music School teachers! All are welcome.
Admission is free for all Handmade Music School and Floyd Country Store jams, with tip jars available to support the musicians.
