The Floyd Country Store is thrilled to have placed in three categories for Virginia Living’s “Best of Virginia” readers’ survey! The Store was voted #1 Best Music Venue, #1 Best Family Entertainment, and #3 Best Tourist Attraction in Southwest Virginia.
Nearly half a million votes were cast in Virginia Living’s survey between 104 categories covering the best in Food & Drink, Living & Recreation, Services, and Shopping across Virginia’s five Regions. Voting took place online on a platform created by Charlottesville start-up SceneThink for the survey.
“Best of Virginia is all about championing the small businesses, the local haunts, and the mom and pop shops,” says Vayda Tarleton, associate editor, special projects for Virginia Living. “Without our reader and voters, this special issue wouldn’t be the go-to reference that it is today.”
As part of The Crooked Road and Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail, The Floyd Country Store serves as a community-centered cultural hub that hosts a variety of old-time and bluegrass musical acts to honor and preserve the extraordinary music of the Appalachian region. In collaboration with Handmade Music School and County Sales, The Floyd Country Store strives to cultivate and strengthen community through experiences in music, dance, art, and food rooted in Appalachian traditions.
